VISITOR VISA (TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA)
A visitor visa is a crucial document for entry into Canada, typically required for most travelers visiting the country. Even if you are transiting through a Canadian airport on your way to another destination, a visitor visa may be necessary.
Application Process:
- Applying for a visitor visa is a straightforward online process.
Duration of Stay:
- Visitors to Canada are generally allowed to stay for up to 6 months.
- The border services officer upon arrival may alter the length of your stay, with your passport being stamped with the departure date or providing a visitor record.
- In the absence of a stamp, your stay is limited to 6 months from the entry date or until your passport's expiration, whichever comes first. You can request a stamp from a border services officer or at the airport's primary inspection kiosk if available.
Determining Entry Document::
- Before applying, determine if you need a visitor visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for your trip to Canada.
- Factors such as your travel document type, its country of origin, your citizenship, and your mode of transportation influence the required entry document.

BUSINESS VISIT TO CANADA
A visitor visa application is designed for individuals visiting Canada for business purposes.
- Stay of less than 6 months.
- No intention to enter the Canadian labor market.
- Primary place of business and source of income outside of Canada.
Business Visitor Activities:
Qualifying activities for a business visitor include:
- If your stay exceeds 6 months or involves work in Canada, you may need a work permit and may be classified as a temporary worker.

SUPER VISA
A Super Visa is a multiple entry visa that’s valid for up to 10 years. It allows you to visit your children or grandchildren in Canada for extended periods, up to 5 years at a time.

To be eligible for a Super Visa, you must meet specific requirements, which include having medical insurance.

Starting from July 4, 2022, Super Visa holders can stay for up to 5 years at a time. The length of stay may vary depending on when your Super Visa application was approved
- If approved before July 4, 2022, you're eligible for a stay of up to 5 years if you enter Canada after that date.
- If approved after July 4, 2022, you're eligible for a stay of up to 5 years.
- If you entered Canada with a valid Super Visa before July 4, 2022, the length of stay remains as initially granted.
*To benefit from an extended stay, you can either leave Canada and re-enter after July 4, 2022, or apply to extend your stay for up to 2 years.
Medical Insurance: Super Visa holders must renew and maintain their medical insurance while in Canada and upon re-entry. Note: If you plan to stay in Canada for 6 months or less, you should apply for a regular visitor visa.
